Sri Lanka has been consistently knows for the mass production of paddy for over centuries. Paddy crops is cultivated as a wetland crop in all districts and rice is the staple food if inhabitants of Sri Lanka.

The recently constructed paddy storage ware houses at Marandagahamulla is a dream come true for paddy crops cultivators in Diwlapitiya. They have now a paddy storage with all the necessary facilities.

The design and construction of these two ware houses which spend respectively over 5160 m2 and 1175 m2 floor area with 59 roof mounted wind turbines, and all the other facilities had been constructed within a very short time period of 07 month, a remarkable achievement for SEC. The project cost is Rs. 372 mn. and the client is Ministry of Economic Development.
